The Pokémon Company International (TPCI) and high-end, ready-to-wear brand A.P.C. have announced their new collection of Pokémon inspired fashion, available online now. “The collection combines A.P.C.’s renowned minimalist signature with colorful Pokémon to create ’90s-inspired designs that are both playful and simple — while nodding to the decade when the popular brand was born in Japan,” says TPCI. Several pieces of the collection, including sweatshirts, T-shirts, and A.P.C.’s signature raw denim jacket - with a Pokémon twist - are available online at the
Pokémon Center U.K. The entire collection, which includes unisex and kids pieces, plus accessories like Pikachu jewelry and bags, is available online at A.P.C.’s website, and in-person at A.P.C. locations and retailers worldwide.
Mathieu Galante, EMEA director of licensing at The Pokémon Company International said:
We are thrilled for Pokémon fans and fashion enthusiasts to discover the Pokémon × A.P.C. range. The stylish and raw identity of A.P.C. associated with the instantly recognizable Pokémon imagery brings a timeless yet contemporary feel to the collection that will charm fans of all ages.
Pikachu and the original
Kanto starters are the stars of the collection, in line with the '90s aesthetic. A.P.C. notes that the Pikachu silhouette A.P.C. logo that appears in this collection is the first time in brand history that their logo has been mixed with a non-text element. The designer nature of the pieces makes them some of the most expensive apparel available at a Pokémon Center, with the denim jacket coming at at £280, but they still come nowhere close in price to Pokémon’s recent collaboration with
luxury jewelry retailer Tiffany & Co.
