Don't miss this year's Winter Holiday events in Pokémon GO, starting next Monday December 18th

Niantic this week have announced the details of this year's Winter Holiday events in Pokémon GO. In part 1, which will run from December 18th, at 10:00am to December 25th, at 10:00am local time, Cetoddle, Cetitan, Pikachu wearing holiday attire, and Raichu wearing holiday attire will eacj be making their Pokémon GO debut. Part 2, which runs from the end of Part 1 through until December 31st, at 8:00pm local time, will see the debut of Psyduck wearing holiday attire, Golduck wearing holiday attire, and Shiny Vanillite.

Trainers will require 50 Cetoddle Candy to evolve their Cetoddle into Cetitan.

Event Bonuses and Activities
During both parts of the event, Trainers will receive increased XP and Stardust from opening Gifts.

Additionally, PokéStop Showcases for event-themed Pokémon will be running throughout the event period at different PokéStops.

Timed Research: Winter Wishes
A free branching Timed Research will be available to all Trainers, continuing through both parts of the Winter Holiday event. Trainers will be able to choose between receiving double XP or double Stardust for catching Pokémon as a bonus for completing this Timed Research. The chosen reward will also determine the tasks received by each Trainer throughout the whole Winter Holiday event. Completing these tasks will award items and encounters with winter-themed Pokémon.

Paid Timed Research
Two separate Tickets for additional Timed Research will also be available for purchase from the in-game shop until December 29th, at 8:00pm local time. The Timed Research tasks associated with these Tickets must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before December 31st, at 8:00pm local time. The Tickets for this Timed Research can also be purchased and gifted to any friend with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.

Ticket 1
For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency), Trainers will gain access to an event-exclusive two-part Timed Research, with one part for each part of the Winter Holiday event.

Timed Research rewards for Winter Holiday Part 1 include event-themed Pokémon encounters, such as Spheal wearing a holiday scarf, Cryogonal and Psyduck wearing holiday attire, as well as two Premium Battle Passes. Timed Research rewards for Winter Holiday Part 2 include event-themed Pokémon encounters, such as Psyduck wearing holiday attire and Cubchoo wearing a holiday ribbon, and a further two Premium Battle Passes.

Ticket 2
For US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency), Trainers will gain access to event-exclusive Timed Research awarding an event-themed avatar pose, a special 2× Candy for catching Pokémon bonus, and various event-themed Pokémon encounters, such as Pikachu wearing holiday attire and Delibird wearing a holiday ribbon and Psyduck wearing holiday attire.

New Avatar Items and Stickers
The following avatar items will be available to purchase in the in-game shop beginning from this event:

• Delibird Onesie
• Cetoddle Hat
• Holiday Boots
• Holiday Gloves
• Holiday Sweater with Scarf

These new items will continue to be available after the end of the Winter Holiday events.

Trainers will also be able to receive event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.

Amazon Prime Members Exclusive
As part of Pokémon GO's continuing collaboration with Amazon Prime Gaming, Amazon Prime Members can now claim a Holiday Sweater with Scarf Avatar Item via the Prime Gaming Website, ahead of its launch in the in-game shop. This item can be claimed any time until January 19th 2024, at 10:00am (PST).
