A new playable Pokémon for
Pokémon UNITE, Gyarados, has been revealed in a set of news updates on the official Japanese website, and posts on official Pokémon UNITE social media accounts. This announcement also included details on mechanics and gameplay for Magikarp. In celebration of the announcement, a new artwork featuring Magikarp using "Splash" in Theia Sky Ruins has been unveiled, and the
official Pokémon UNITE japanese account on X (formerly Twitter) will be holding a special giveaway of in-game items and real life merchandise featuring Magikarp and Gyarados.
Gyarados to join the fray this month!
Gyarados will join Pokémon UNITE on January 25th. Gyarados will start as Magikarp, which will have an exclusive mechanic called "Effort Gauge", which will accumulate with each "Splash" or "Flail" move the user uses. When the gauge reaches its maximum, Magikarp will evolve into Gyarados. At the time of the writing, no further details about how this Pokémon will play have been officially revealed .
