Fairy-type Pokémon take center stage in Pokémon GO's Dazzling Dream event, beginning next week on Saturday January 13th

Niantic have announced details for the upcoming Dazzling Dream event in Pokémon GO, which was first revealed in a post on the official Pokémon GO account on X late last month. The event, which will run from January 13th at 10:00am to January 16th at 8:00pm local time will feature the Pokémon GO debut of Shiny Cutiefly, together with encounters with a whole host of different Fairy-type Pokémon.

Event Bonuses and Activities
Trainers will earn 2× Stardust for catching and hatching Pokémon during this event.

Collection Challenges
Event-themed Collection Challenges will be available as part of this event. Trainers who complete the Dazzling Dream Collection Challenges will be able to receive XP, Stardust, as well as an encounter with Carbink.

Timed Research and Field Research
Trainers will be able to purchase access to event-exclusive Timed Research for US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency). Completing these tasks will award Trainers with 2 Premium Battle Passes, XP, Stardust, 2 Star Pieces, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before January 16th, at 8:00pm local time.

Free event-themed Field Research tasks will also be running during this event. Trainers completing the Field Research tasks will receive encounters with the following Pokémon:

• Spritzee ⁂
• Swirlix ⁂
• Cutiefly ⁂
• Mawile (uncommon) ⁂
• Carbink (uncommon)

Certain Field Research tasks will also reward Mega Energy for Mega Gardevoir and Mega Altaria.

New avatar item
The Cutiefly Mask will be available to purchase in the in-game shop starting from this event.
This new item will continue to be available after the end of the Dazzling Dream event.
