Grass-Type Masters High Score Event launches in Pokémon Masters EX, plus Poké Fair and 5★-Select Grass-Type Scouts, and new Darach Ultimate Battle
High Score Event: Grass-Type Masters
Grass-Type Masters is the latest in what is still a relatively new event format for Pokémon Masters EX. In High Score Events, players will aim to score the highest amount possible within a set of five battles. Grass-Type Masters will see players facing off against a gauntlet of Grass-type Sync Pairs, including Ramos, Erika, Mallow, Gardenia, and Cilan. By completing battles in this event and achieving a higher total score, players will be able to earn a variety of rewards, including 5★ Power-Ups, Certificates of Excellence, Move Candy Coins, and Move Feathers. Players can also obtain Gems x100, Grass Tome, Vol. 1 x120, and Grass Codex, Vol. 1 x120 as first-time rewards for completing each battle.
Each High Score Event comes with a set of Event Rules that apply to all battles, and serve as a set of conditions to evaluate how players have completed each battle. The ratings on each of these rules determine the player's base score for each battle. The rules for Grass-Type Masters are as follows:
- Time Trial - Players will obtain a higher score depending on how fast they can complete each battle.
- Aim for more damage -Players will obtain a higher score based on the maximum damage dealt by any ally.
- More attacks - Players will obtain a higher score the more total times all allied sync pairs land attacks.
- Sunny - Players will receive a bonus 1,000 to their base score byactivating the Sunny field effect.
- Main Character or Nature Lover - Players will receive a bonus 1,000 to their base score by forming a team with 1 or more characters with the Main Character or Nature Lover themes.
- 0 Pairs: x0 Score
- 1 Pair: x1 Score
- 2 Pairs: x2 Score
- 3 Pairs: x3 Score
A ranking feature is also available to this event, allowing players to see how well they've done against other trainers. Players whose Best Score is within the top 10,000 spots at the end of the event will be awarded Master Rank, receiving a special Medal as a general mission reward. Final Ranking Results will only be announced after the event has concluded, from January 24th, at 10:00pm (PST), and will remain available until January 31st, at 9:59pm (PST).
Players should also note the following when playing this event:
- To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
- Area info completion data will not be carried over the next time this event returns.
- The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
- It may take some time for rankings to be updated, meaning the in-game rankings may not reflect the most recent results.
- Battles finished after the event period ends may not be reflected in the rankings.
Two new scout banners have started today in Pokémon Masters EX, running alongside Grass-Type Masters.
5★-Select Type Scout
In this 5★-Select Type Scout featuring only Grass-Type Sync Pairs, players can spend 2,000 paid gems to receive an 11x Scout, as well as an additional bonus selection of a 5★ Sync Pair from the limited pool. This scout can be used up to 3 times during the scouting period.
Victor & Rillaboom and Sygna Suit Leaf & Venusaur make their return together in this Double Feature Poké Fair Scout. As with a typical Poké Fair Scout, 5★ Sync Pairs will have a 10% chance of appearing, with the two featured trainers having a higher chance of being scouted. Unlike regular Poké Fair Scouts however, only Grass-type Sync Pairs will appear in this scout.
As always, Poké Fair exclusive Sync Pairs may reappear in future Poké Fair Scouts.
Ultimate Battle: Darach's Daring Wings
Ultimate Battle: Darach's Daring Wings is the latest piece of content to be added to the new Challenge the Strong content area. To access this Ultimate Battle, select the Side Area from the main Explore Menu, and then select Challenge the Strong. Players successfully completing Ultimate Battle: Darach's Daring Wings will receive 300 Diamonds as a First-Time Reward.
Challenge the Strong battles follow the standard three-on-three battle format, but have the Ultimate difficulty level, which as the name suggests is a level of difficulty significantly above the difficulty of high level battles to date. These battles will require players to maximize the potential of their Sync Pairs, to have an excellent understanding of how to build their team for the best advantage, and understand the right time to use their moves in the most effective way.
To unlock Challenge the Strong and Ultimate difficulty battles, players must have completed the Champion Stadium Hard Lv. 1 for any region.
The Battle Villa, a recurring event that allows players to use up to 9 sync pairs to progress through its stages, has reopened once again, and will be available for players to challenge until January 22nd, at 9:59 pm (PST). Performing well in this challenge will allow players to obtain up to 2000 gems, as well as items to upgrade their sync pairs including cookies and lucky scrolls. To enter the Battle Villa, players must progress past Chapter 7: Where There's a Will, There's a Way (Normal) in single player mode.
Players who complete every hall in the Battle Villa will be able to skip certain halls the next time the Battle Villa opens. Halls that are skipped will still award first-time rewards, however any coin completion rewards, XP, and bonus awards will not be granted. Skipped halls also do not count towards any associations missions.
As discussed in our earlier update today, Iono & Bellibolt will be making their Pokémon Masters debut in a Poké Fair Scout starting January 11th.
Since our initial article was posted, the 'Ello, 'Ello, Hola! Log-In Bonus has been confirmed as 300 Gems per day over 3 days. This bonus is only available until January 11th, at 9:59pm (PST), so players will need to log-in every day until Iono debuts in order to receive the full 900 Gems.
