Claim your Mythical Pecha Berry to unlock the Mochi Mayhem epilogue story to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero

Starting today, players of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet can now claim the Mythical Pecha Berry via Mystery Gift, which can be used to unlock the game's new Mochi Mayhem epilogue story.

While this Mystery Gift can be claimed at any time, players will only be able to unlock the epilogue after first participating in the Academy Ace Tournament at least once, and completing the plot of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero downloadable content. After fulfilling this requirements and acquiring the Mythical Pecha Berry, players can trigger the start of Mochi Mayhem by interacting with a certain decoration at Peachy's at Mossui Town in Kitakami.

While The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is required to use the Mythical Pecha Berry, players yet to play or purchase the DLC can still claim the item in advance. The Mythical Pecha Berry appears to have been set as a permanent distribution, meaning it should be available to players for a long time to come. A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required to receive Mystery Gifts.

To receive the Mythical Pecha Berry, players will need to select Poké Portal from the X menu in Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, then Mystery Gift, and then Get via Internet to connect to the internet. After selecting the gift from the list of those currently available, the item will appear in the Key Items pocket of the player's Bag. Players are reminded to save their games after receiving their Mystery Gift.
