Operation Oinkologne Friendship! - Pokémon Horizons Episode 36 Review - Gender Confirmation: The Episode

The odd jobs saga continues in Pokémon Horizons this week as Liko and Roy are tasked to help one of Nidothing’s viewers with a problem. The viewer, who goes by the username Yunorin, wants to join the Tag Battle Tournament being held in Pigton Town, but her Oinkologne isn’t too thrilled about partnering up with another Pokémon. What could be the issue? It’s nice that the kids are the main focus of this week's episode without adults interfering this time around.

Respective Departures - Pokémon Horizons Episode 34 Review - A Party of Departure and Foreshadowing

While this week's episode of Pokémon Horizons was mainly a straightforward episode with the gang holding a party for Diana’s departure, I actually liked the subtle hints of foreshadowing for the future they snuck in. This episode has hints of the Rising Volt Tacklers going to find the Scarlet/Violet Book that harbors details about Terapagos, Dot going into battle, and Spinel and Agate hinting on usurping Amethio’s chances of finding the Black Rayquaza. This episode has done a lot to help build my excitement for what's coming in future episodes.

Roaring Black Rayquaza - Pokémon Horizons Episode 33 Review - Amethio Battles Rayquaza

This week's episode of Pokémon Horizons treated us to a beatdown, with Amethio getting totally wiped by Rayquaza, in humiliating fashion. Silly Amethio, did you really think you have the power to defeat a legendary? I do wonder why Rayquaza showed up though. It seemed like he wasn’t as chummy towards Terapagos as the other Hero Pokémon were. Does it not like Terapagos for some reason?

The Song In The Mist - Pokémon Horizons Episode 31 Review - The Fourth of the Six Heroes

While this week's episode of Pokémon Horizons was primarily buildup to the reveal of the fourth of the Six Hero Pokémon, I did like the mystery building up around the Lapras. A cargo ship thought it was helping them escape a fog, when it reality, Lapras was looting their food. Lapras's Pokédex entries going back to the first generation have mentioned how they are gentle and kind-hearted Pokémon, so that means it should be a good Pokémon, right?

The Slipping, Smashing Mystery Pokémon?! - Pokémon Horizons Episode 30 Review - The Polteageist line makes their debut!

Have you ever envisioned a brawl between a Shuckle and a Polteageist? Whether you have or haven’t, this episode delivers just that, as Polteageist makes its official anime debut. I liked that this week's episode of Pokémon Horizons was more of a Pokémon-focused episode, rather than Horizons’ usual human and Pokémon-focused episodes. While there were some humans that played a key part in this episode, they weren’t the real focus of this episode as it was all Polteageist.

Use code「TEAMSTAR] in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet to receive Revavroom with the Peeved Mark, based on the Pokémon from Episode 3 of Paldean Winds

A limited-time distribution of a Revavroom with the Peeved Mark was announced for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet at the end of the 3rd episode of Paldean Winds, which aired today across the various language Official Pokémon YouTube channels. The US version of the episode, for whatever reason, did not include this announcement, though the UK version posted on the same channel did. This Pokémon is based off of Team Star's Revavroom, which played a significant role in this episode. This distribution will remain available until October 31st next year.

Orla and the Poké Ball Artisan - Pokémon Horizons Episode 29 Review - Finally it's Orla's time to shine

I always welcome an episode that gives us more insight into the character's backstory. It’s super wonderful to learn more about the Rising Volt Tacklers. This time, it’s Orla’s turn in the spotlight. She’s the mechanic of the team, and also the most needed person on the ship, a very talented engineer who knows how to fix practically everything. So, what happens when she meets a fellow female engineer who needs her help? That’s what this week's episode of Pokémon Horizons. is all about.

The Stolen Treasure - Pokémon Horizons Episode 28 Review - A Wild Ball Chase

If I am allowed to be honest, I didn’t like this week's episode of Pokémon Horizons. The kids were acting a lot dumber than they actually are, and most of the episode was just chasing an old guy around. It felt rather silly to me. Am I the only one feeling this way? All I can remember from this episode was that the kids were running around. That’s it. That’s the episode.

As Long As I'm With My Companions - Pokémon Horizons Episode 27 Review - Curry Mukbang Time!

This week's episode is a fun episode for the Rising Volt Tacklers, and a nice buildup episode for the Explorers. The title and theme of this episode is “As Long I’m With My Companions”, and the story is split into two mini-plotlines, with the first focusing on the Rising Volt Tacklers preparing and eating curry together, while the second shows us the Explorers having a meeting. I do like how both sides are shown without either one hogging the spotlight too much.

James Carter Cathcart is best known as the voice talent for multiple roles in the English-language version of the Pokémon anime, including Professor Oak, James of Team Rocket, and many different Pokémon throughout his long career. He has recently offered an encouraging update for fans on his blog, which he began early this year to document his ongoing battle with throat cancer.
