Pokémon Sleep's sixth Good Sleep Day event will run from Thursday January 25th through to Saturday January 27th. Good Sleep Day events are being held in Pokémon Sleep once every lunar month, starting the day before the full moon, and ending the day after. As usual, a Good Sleep Day Bundle will be available from the in-game shop alongside this event.

A new video on the Pokémon Trading Card Game's official Japanese YouTube channel has revealed new cards for the Vikavolt evolution line, which will be released in Japan at the end of next week on January 26th as part of the Cyber Judge expansion for the Scarlet & Violet series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Cards from Cyber Judge, and its partner set Wild Force, will be released internationally later this year as part of the Scarlet & Violet - Temporal Forces expansion on March 22nd.

Two Pokémon games are set to feature in the 2024 Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) charity marathon, which is taking place over January 14th to January 21st in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This year's event will be raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

Niantic has announced a special ticketed collaboration event for the launch of Pokémon Air Adventures for Indonesia, exclusively for Indonesian Pokémon GO players. The Pikachu's Indonesia Journey in Bali event will run on March 2nd and 3rd, from 10:00am to 6:00pm local time. Tickets are available to purchase now for 150,000 IDR. Trainers may only purchase a ticket for one day of the two-day event.

The Rage Monkey Pokémon Annihilape will be making make its Pokémon GO debut next week as part of the Raging Battles event, which will run alongside the GO Battle Week that was previously announced all the way back in November 2023. Both events will run from January 19th at 10:00am local time, through to January 24th at 11:59pm local time.

2022 Social Impact ReportThe Pokémon Company International (TPCi) has issued their second annual Social Impact Report, detailing their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategies from 2022. TPCi has also used this announcement to welcome their first occupant of a newly-created role at the company, Raquel Daniels as its first Chief Diversity and Social Responsibility Officer, who will be responsible for overseeing and growing the CSR and DEI initiatives.

Niantic this week has released more details regarding the upcoming Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh Live Event in Los Angeles on February 17th and 18th, and the Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Global event which will follow held on February 24th and 25th. These events will see the Pokémon GO debuts of both Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia, who can each be found in special space-time anomalies that will appear during these events.

The Pokémon Company has announced the latest addition to Project Snorlax (プロジェクトカビゴン), a year long celebration of the titular Pokémon through social media and product tie-ins. The Japanese-American pop artist known as CHRIS has debuted his version of Snorlax, with its eyes unusually open in his signature style, to be featured on products and art available online and at the Isetan Shinjuku department store in Tokyo, Japan. From January 17th until January 23rd, an art exhibition will be held on the #2 Stage inside the store's main building, featuring several of CHRIS’s Snorlax-themed art pieces, including a life-size (6’11”) Snorlax titled “The Snorlax in the Dream.”

The RTA in Gunma 2024 event will be happening live from the 11th annual LAN Ran♪Gunma in ISOBE event from January 12nd to January 14th. A run of Pokémon Red and Green will feature in the event, in which the runner will attempt to complete the Diploma on both games without the use of glitches or assistance from other people. The event will be hosted on the RTA in Japan Twitch channel.

Niantic has confirmed that the Egg Pokémon, Chansey will be the featured Pokémon for Pokémon GO's Community Day for February 2024. During this event, Chansey will be appearing more frequently in the wild, together with its Shiny variant. The event will be held on February 4th, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time.

The holiday season may be well and truly over, but Pokémon Sleep is continuing to deliver with regular in-game events. Starting on January 29th, the first Monday following the addition of the new Lapis Lakeside area to Pokémon Sleep on Wednesday January 24th, and running through to Monday February 12th at 3:59am local time, the game will be holding a two week long event to celebrate the addition of this new area, giving players who've not yet unlocked enough entries in their Sleep Style Dex a chance to catch Pokémon that would otherwise be exclusive to the new area.

With today's announcement of the Scarlet & Violet - Temporal Forces expansion, we also now finally have an official date for the start of the next Pokémon Trading Card Game Standard Format Rotation. The 2024 Standard format will begin for in-person events on April 5th, and will come into force for online play in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live app from March 21th. From these dates, cards with the "E" regulation mark will no longer be legal for play in Standard format, with players only able to use cards with the "F", "G", and "H" regulation marks (and any future released marks), or which have received reprints with those marks. Cards will become legal for tournament play two weeks after their international release date.
